My name is Henrique and I am a PhD student from Brazil who has just spent an intern-ship period at the International Institute of Social Studies in The Hague.

As economics and social development are my major areas, my study focuses on how alternative monetary schemes could foster local development by creating their own economic circuits. That is why I aim to describe their main features, such as supply/demand structure, types of activities and production involved and the role of money creation in local economic activity.
