The Exchange Revolution: How to take complementary currencies and moneyless trading to a higher level

On the 18th of June, as a side-event of the second International Conference on Complementary Systems, Thomas Greco, Timebank.cc and the Social Trade Organisation organise an evening in The Hague with presentations on the ins and outs of different forms of complementary currencies.

Over the past three decades, a great many complementary currencies and exchange schemes have sprung up, gained some degree of acceptance and notoriety, then faded away. A few have achieved modest success and been able to persist, but virtually none of them has become a significant factor in the economic lives of their communities. It is becoming ever more urgent that communities create alternative sources of liquidity that are more effective, robust, scalable, and locally controlled.
